Need some advice

I am looking to redo my website.  Many of my friends/advisors have said that it doesn't truly reflect my personality.

What do you think about:

  1. WordPress

  2. HubSot

I want to be able to design and maintain my website by myself, so I'm looking for options.

Thanks!

I'm at a crossroads - one where I hoped I never would be.  I love doing what I do even though it often involves extensive travel.  But now I may have to be closer to home to help an aging parent.  I may have to let go of my consulting and get a real job.  I'm not happy about this.  I don't like office politics and people worried about who is trying to get their job or who works harder than someone else but it never gets recognized.

Ideally, I would be able to work from home doing new hire training and elearning and the occasional PowerPoint decks.  I work hard...I won't cheat anyone!  Some people like me just aren't meant to work in a traditional office.

Working for yourself is very fulfilling and versatile.  That's all I want.....

Anyone need a part time person?

I am a big believer that you really do have to sell yourself (and sell yourself well) to get hired in any economy, especially this one. On the other hand though some people have taken things to the point where they look just plain silly.

I can almost guarantee you that if you use one of these words/phrases listed below to describe YOURSELF (ie NOT someone else describing you) on your resume, LinkedIn profile, Twitter profile, or really anywhere else you are probably getting laughed at and not hired.
  • top  gun
  • ninja
  • superstar
  • guru
  • rock star
  • expert
  • top notch
  • top shelf
  • Jedi
  • ‘Yoda like’
You have been warned.
Until next time, good hunting and good luck!

My SoMe class was my first real online class and I really liked it!  I'm looking for more classes that I can take.  I really want the Social Media Managers certificate.  Anybody have any ideas?

Not enough time on my hands! YAY!

Finished my SoMe for Trainers class and learned so much.  I love to continue to learn the last technologies and intend on trying my best to stay on top.  I have a lot to do to catch up.  I have been working a lot so it's a good thing, but need to spend more time on the business.  Marketing, expanding, learning.  It's fun!
